LOST

Sobbing at the window waiting for him wondering will he ever come back. Thoughts screaming in her head, terrible, terrible thoughts. He always said he will come back something must of happened to him. She loves her dad “why should this happen to me”. I need to do something about this but her mum will say “don’t worry sweetie he will come back” but she said that 3 days ago. No!! I need to look for him. Mum she explained we need look for dad yes dear get to the jeep.

Beautiful red clouds in the evening sky blending into a dark blue. Fantastic sightings of natural Hills and Valleys.. The desert was so quiet  that the slightest noise would travel miles. At this time she really thought he was gone. She look everywhere. But no dad to be seen all she sees is a lone desert. She was so heart broken.

Time flew past quickly it was already beginning to get late. It’s been so long since she stepped on normal ground. Her lower body was hurting why has this happened to me just why. But then a little sight gave her a relief and hope she said mum is that dad they drove faster and faster just to find that it was a cactus. A cactus she said wait a cactus  dad said he was by the lone cactus he was on the nearest left turn mum. Turn here “whoa”. Round the corner and then…
I think the treasure has been  found.

The Wild Cat

Room 1 have been busy doing recounts.
If you don't know what a recount is is a piece of writing about something that happen in the past.
Our learning intentions was to describe. Our success criteria was:
*use some long and short sentences
* use juicy verbs to start a sentence
* use a simile or a metaphor
*Keep to one main idea in each paragraph
I found it easy keep to one idea in each paragraph because my brainstorm helped me. I found it quite challenging to add a juicy verb at the start of a sentence. I need to come to a workshop with Mrs Naden on that.

This is my recount enjoy.

I overheard my instructor say do you want to try a side flip. I immediately thought YES!! The rest of the way down to the jump I was like a little kangaroo bouncing up and down.

As  soon as I got to the jump I immediately stopped and glazed at the jump. It looked scary. These two boys went  before me, they a lot better than me and they can't do it.

It got to my turn, everyone else had left how much time left so it was just me. Finally I had got a spot  I started to countdown 3,2,1,Go! Wind flew past my ear so fast I couldn’t hear my own voice. I got the jump popped off and... I couldn't even get a quarter of the rotation I was so disappointed how did my instructor do it.

As soon as I got to the chair lift I told my brother “I tried it”  he replied “what the wildcat” “ yeah” I said of course he didn't believe me until I told him I didn't even get a quarter of the rotation. After that I felt proud of myself for trying and I would definitely do it again.

2019 Speech

This week we have been presenting our speeches.
I felt so confident to say my speech in front off my class.
Our standards we had to try to complete are: use a clear voice, stand still, look at the audience, go at a comfortable pace, and use expression.
Our speeches needed a rhetorical question and make it persuasive .
Here's my speech enjoy

Why Immunisations are important
Do you know  why Immunisations are important?
If you've been Immunised good because that could save your life.If you don't know what  immunised means I’ll tell you.

Immunised is when you have been given this injection of some sorts to help your immune system to fight back bad bacteria that gets into your body.

As I mean bacteria like diseases, 1 disease that has been flying around New Zealand lately the measles you want to be Immunised before the measles gets you. The measles can be violent.

But I'm not here to tell you facts about why you should be Immunised. Here is  three main reasons why you should be immunised.

Firstly it will reduce the rate of getting diseases. Any preventable contagious
diseases are like the flu are safe if you have been Immunised.

If You get immunised it will most likely stay healthy for the rest of your life. The Centre for disease control and prevention does  recommended to get  immunised because of the risks.

Immunisations are very very safe and instead of being hurt by diseases being immunised as could possibly save a life instead. There is very strong data that leads to the safety of immunisations.

If you don't believe me you can look it up online because Immunisations are proven to be very safe.  so if you haven't been immunised please do and ensure all kiwi kids have been immunised to thank you.

Stop climate change

Do you know what climate change is doing to Earth? Climate change is serious. It will eventually change the world if we don't do anything about it. Climate change is different to global warming here's why climate change is different. Climate change is a change in Earth's atmosphere which is normally temperatures getting higher which effects weather patterns. Global warming is the Earth's core getting hotter which effects the outside. Here’s 3 main reasons of what climate change is doing. Carbon Dioxide Carbon dioxide a.k.a CO2 is a part of the GHG (green house gases). We are releasing a lot more than you realise the total amount is 2.4 million per second. That’s per second imagine a minute. Also the carbon dioxide levels have been at their highest. Last highest recorded carbon dioxide levels were 650,000 years ago. Glaciers Glaciers will be a big problem this could lead to sea levels rising which will flood low land cities towns wiping out the civilization there living there.Temperatures will change, many causes could change the temperature from glaciers. Wild Forest Fire Wildfires are spreading rapidly. The Amazon rainforest is a huge danger 73,000 fires recorded this year 2,500 are currently active. This will put over half of our wildlife species in danger. Climate change is going to change the world. This needs to stop help prevent climate change by doing something about it.
